Transform a compatible conventional bicycle into an electric bike with a BAFANG BBS mid-drive motor conversion kit. Available in 500W, 750W and 1000W configurations, the system replaces the existing bottom-bracket crankset and delivers motor assistance directly through the bicycle's drivetrain.

The mid-drive design helps maintain the bicycle's existing gearing while positioning the motor centrally within the frame. Depending on the selected configuration, the kit can be supplied with different displays, chainrings and bottom-bracket widths to suit a range of compatible bicycle frames.

The kit includes the motor, display, speed sensor, wiring harness, throttle, brake levers, chainring and installation hardware. Battery is not included and must be purchased separately.

Mid-Drive Performance

Unlike a hub motor, the BAFANG BBS system drives the bicycle through the existing drivetrain. This allows the motor to work through the bicycle's gearing and provides a more integrated mid-drive configuration.

The system supports multiple riding modes depending on the selected controls and configuration.

The supplied PAS system uses a speed sensor to detect riding activity and control pedal assistance.

Bottom-Bracket Compatibility

Correct frame compatibility is essential before ordering.

The supplied specifications indicate compatibility with threaded BSA-style bottom brackets with an internal diameter of approximately 33.5-36mm.

Bottom-bracket width depends on the motor configuration:

Installation

The BBS system is designed to replace the existing bottom-bracket and crank assembly with the supplied mid-drive motor.

Installation requires removal of the existing crankset and bottom-bracket components, followed by installation of the motor, chainring, wiring, display, speed sensor, throttle and control components.

The kit includes installation hardware and locking nuts.

Professional installation is recommended if you are not experienced with bicycle drivetrain and electrical system installation.
