Headlight Restoration Kit with Liquid Polymer
Headlight Restoration Kit with Liquid Polymer
General Details
General Details
This Headlight Restoration Kit is designed to help restore the appearance and clarity of faded, yellowed, oxidised or hazy vehicle headlight lenses.
The restoration process combines progressive wet sanding with a liquid polymer treatment applied using the supplied heating and atomisation method. This helps improve lens transparency and can restore a clearer appearance to headlights affected by surface deterioration.
The kit is suitable for restoring older headlights and can also be used as part of a maintenance process for newer lenses.
Headlight Restoration
The treatment is designed to address common signs of headlight lens deterioration.
• Yellowing: Helps restore the appearance of discoloured lenses
• Oxidation: Helps remove oxidised surface material
• Hazing: Helps improve cloudy or blurred lens appearance
• Fine Scratches: Sanding process helps remove surface imperfections
• Crazing: Can be used as part of the restoration process for affected surfaces
• Surface Clarity: Designed to improve optical transparency
• Lens Appearance: Helps restore a cleaner, brighter appearance
Multi-Stage Wet Sanding
Proper surface preparation is an important part of the restoration process. The supplied instructions recommend progressively sanding the headlight lens before applying the polymer treatment.
• Initial Sanding: Begin with 180-grit sandpaper
• Progressive Sanding: Continue through 240, 360, 600, 800 and 1200 grit
• Wet Sanding: Use water during the sanding process
• Cross Sanding: Change sanding direction between stages to help ensure the previous sanding marks are removed
• Surface Preparation: Continue until the original gloss has been removed evenly
• Final Cleaning: Wash the lens thoroughly and dry with a clean towel before treatment
Liquid Polymer Treatment
After sanding and cleaning, the liquid polymer is applied using the heating and atomisation process described by the manufacturer.
• Application Method: Heated atomisation / fumigation
• Atomisation Cup: Fill to approximately one-third capacity
• Heating Time: Approximately 5–10 minutes
• Application: Allow the generated vapour to treat the prepared headlight surface
• Finish: Designed to improve transparency and surface appearance
• Adhesion: Manufacturer describes the treatment as having strong adhesion
Easy-to-Follow Process
The kit is designed to provide a straightforward restoration process when the manufacturer's instructions are followed.
Step 1: Inspect the Headlight
Check the lens for yellowing, oxidation, hazing, crazing, scratches and other surface deterioration.
Step 2: Protect the Surrounding Area
Work in a clean, dry and wind-free environment. Cover the surrounding paintwork and areas around the headlight with protective film before sanding.
Step 3: Sand the Lens
Wet sand progressively using 180, 240, 360, 600, 800 and 1200 grit. Use water and cross-sand between stages until the surface is evenly prepared and free from remaining gloss.
Step 4: Clean & Dry
Wash the headlight thoroughly after sanding and dry it completely with a clean towel.
Step 5: Apply the Polymer
Pour the liquid into approximately one-third of the atomisation cup. Heat the cup for approximately 5–10 minutes while directing the generated vapour over the prepared headlight surface according to the supplied instructions.
Step 6: Complete the Treatment
Once the headlight has been evenly treated, disconnect the equipment and allow the restored surface to finish as instructed.
