General Details

The TOPDON BT100 and BT200 are compact automotive battery testers designed to assess battery condition, starting performance and charging-system operation. Both models provide fast diagnostic information for 12V lead-acid batteries, while the BT200 also supports 24V cranking and charging-system testing.

The BT100 is suited to everyday 12V battery diagnostics, while the BT200 provides additional 24V capability for larger vehicles and electrical systems.

Battery Testing

Both models evaluate battery condition using electrical measurements to provide information on battery performance and remaining capacity.

Battery Test: 12V
Battery Type: Lead-acid
Battery Chemistries: Flooded, AGM Flat Plate, AGM Spiral, GEL and EFB
Test Range: 100–2000 CCA
Battery Analysis: State of Health (SOH) and State of Charge (SOC)
BT100: Also measures internal resistance
BT200: Measures battery voltage and CCA performance

Cranking Test

The cranking test evaluates how the battery performs when starting the vehicle by measuring starting voltage and cranking duration.

BT100 Cranking Test: 12V systems
BT200 Cranking Test: 12V / 24V systems
Measurements: Starting voltage and cranking time
Purpose: Helps identify weak starting performance and potential battery issues

Charging System Test

The charging test helps assess alternator and charging-system performance by monitoring vehicle voltage under different operating conditions.

BT100 Charging Test: 12V systems
BT200 Charging Test: 12V / 24V systems
BT100: Loaded voltage, unloaded voltage and ripple testing
BT200: Loaded and unloaded voltage testing
Applications: Alternator, regulator and charging-system checks

BT100 Additional Features

The BT100 provides several functions within a compact handheld design.

Battery Health: SOH, SOC and internal resistance
Battery Status Indicators: GOOD, CHARGE and BAD LED indicators
Ripple Test: Helps identify charging-system irregularities
Backlit LCD: Designed for clear viewing in different lighting conditions
Compact Design: Suitable for workshops, garages and mobile diagnostics

BT200 Additional Features

The BT200 provides expanded testing capability for both 12V and 24V vehicle systems.

12V / 24V Cranking Test: Supports both system voltages
12V / 24V Charging Test: Suitable for a wider range of vehicles
2.4-Inch Colour LCD: Displays battery and test information clearly
Portable Design: Compact enough for workshop or roadside use
Simple Operation: Connect the test clamps to the battery terminals and follow the on-screen instructions

Display

The two models use different display configurations for presenting test results.

BT100 Display: 2-inch backlit LCD
BT100 Resolution: 128 × 64 pixels
BT200 Display: 2.4-inch colour LCD
BT200 Resolution: 320 × 240 pixels
